Is the institution currently designated as a Fair Trade College or University?:
Yes

A brief description of the institution’s Fair Trade initiatives, including the year formal designation was achieved and/or renewed:

The University of Calgary is proud to be a Fair Trade Campus. Having achieved certification for the past 3 consecutive years, we have continued to represent Fair Trade in many of the activities we plan throughout the year. We have an official space called the Sustainability Resource Centre, where students and the committee gather for our meetings. In May of 2015 we also changed our food provider from Chartwells to Aramark and have updated all signage and offerings to comply and maintain our status.
A highlight on campus is Fair Trade Week, taking place in September. Engagement booths are present around campus where students, faculty and staff can learn more about Fair Trade, as well as where they can buy Fair Trade products on campus. As well, the Engineers without Borders Student Club hold regular events, such as: Waffle Wednesday and Fair Trade Fridays showcasing and promoting Fair Trade food ingredients and Fair Trade Coffee.
