Yes

A brief description of the institution’s Fair Trade initiatives, including the year formal designation was achieved and/or renewed:

The University of Calgary is proud to be a Fair Trade Campus. Having achieved this certification in 2015 we have continued to represent Fair Trade in many of the activities we plan throughout the year. We now have an official space called the Sustainability Resource Centre, which is home to our Certificate and where students and the committee gather for our meetings. In May of 2015 we also changed our food provider from Chartwells to Aramark and have updated all signage and offerings to comply and maintain our status.
One of the highlights this year was the Ben and Jerry’s Free Cone day on April 12th held in our main dining hall, The Landing. In the fall of 2015 we hosted 2 large Farmers Market Events and our Fair Trade ‘Banana Man’ made an appearance and held court at the Fair Trade table where we gave out information and sample size chocolates. The Engineers without Borders Student Club hold regular events, such as: Waffle Wednesday and Fair Trade Fridays showcasing and promoting Fair Trade food ingredients and Fair Trade Coffee.
