Potential SustainabilityON Coordinators submit an application, which includes obtaining supervisor approval, to the U of C Office of Sustainability. 51 employees are currently serving as SustainabilityON Coordinators.

SustainabilityON Coordinators attend a 1.5 hour
orientation session followed by quarterly training sessions for specific campus sustainability campaigns and initiatives. Training includes hands on activities and delivery of a detailed handbook containing information, tools and resources that assist with the delivery of each campaign.

The Office of Sustainability provides a staff member who is responsible for training participants and acting as a resource to SustainabilityON Coordinators. Business units and faculties with SustainabilityON Coordinators can apply for funding via the Energy Efficiency Fund which is U of C's revolving energy fund.
