A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
University of Calgary staff and faculty are welcome to attend the following learning and development courses offered through HR which support diversity and employment equity on campus: • Anti-Racism Response Training - Active witnessing response training for prejudice reduction.  Directly addresses issues of active witnessing and bystander intervention. How can we respond to racist remarks and discriminative situations with concrete action? What skills do we need to have for intervening racist situations? • Dimensions of Diversity: The Respectful Workplace - Staff do their best work in an environment of mutual respect and dignity. The University places a high value on fostering a healthy climate supportive of all people. • Selection and Interview Foundation (Training for Hiring Managers) – Workshop covers basic tips for hiring managers and selection teams on interviewing. Workshop also includes section on benefits of diversity and recognizing bias and perceptions.
