A brief description of the program(s):
Sustainability has been confirmed as one of the University of Calgary's core values as outlined in Eyes High, our institution's strategic vision, and has been further confirmed as one of 7 academic priorities in our 2012 Academic Plan, the results of which are already underway.
At our annual recognition event we highlight the success of faculty, staff and students who are advancing sustainability including this year, at the 5th annual SustainabilityON Awards, where we recognized faculty who are finding innovative and inspiring ways to incorporate sustainability in the courses they teach.
In Q1 2013, the Academic Committee for Sustainability was launched, undertaking discussions broadly within the academic community about how and where education for sustainability and sustainability literacy should be further developed.
