A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:
imagineCALGARY: a long term plan for a sustainable future that was developed with the input from more than 18,000 Calgarians. The Plan includes a long-range vision for the city of Calgary and more than 100 targets that provide reference points for organizations and individuals to determine what action can be taken to build a sustainable community. The U of C is proud to be one of more than 60 partners of this initiative that is shaping Calgary's future.
Urban Alliance: a research & innovation partnership between the University of Calgary and the City of Calgary with a goal of improving quality of life for cities in Alberta, Canada and around the world. It addresses 9 broad themes which collectively contribute to quality of life in an urban setting. These themes are: Social Fabric & Security, Living Spaces, Consumption Cycle, Natural Environment, Mobility, Infrastructure, Mgmt & Industry, Workforce and Governance.
