UBC Spotlight Program
The UBC Sustainability Initiative (USI) Spotlight Program provides funding to faculty who wish to integrate sustainability content, innovative pedagogies, and/or sustainability research into an existing undergraduate course. An award of $5000 is available, with up to four spotlight awards funded annually. The Spotlight Program is open to all UBC faculty members who have a demonstrated interest in sustainability and are teaching an undergraduate course.

A brief description of the incentives that faculty members who participate in the program(s) receive:
In addition to an award of $5000 for the course revision, the 2014-2015 Spotlight grant recipients also participate as a USI Fellow for a one-year term. Fellows receive an additional $5,000 stipend that can be taken as an honorarium or applied to project costs or research programs. The fellows’ cohort meets regularly throughout the academic year to review project updates and discuss shared challenges and opportunities with their peers.
