Is the institution's default not to print course catalogs, course schedules, and directories, but instead make these materials available online?:
A brief description of the practice:
As of December 1, 2010, UBC will no longer print annual copies of the UBC Directory. Dependence on the printed version of the UBC Directory has greatly declined, in-line with the increased use of the online version of the directory which is more up-to-date and more accessible. UBC has committed to environmentally sustainable practices, and as we review our processes for printing the directory, great environmental savings can be made by ending the annual print.
The UBC Vancouver Calendar is a comprehensive guide to all programs, courses, and services available on the Vancouver campus. It also serves as a record of many University academic policies and procedures. UBC has recently transitioned to an online-only calendar, which is continuously updated with new information.
