A brief description of the reusable mug program:
At UBC Food Services, all units offer a 15 cent discount to customers who use their own mug or food container. This initiative was launched in 2003 and has resulted in an annual reduction of paper cups of 20%. http://www.food.ubc.ca/sustainability/sustainability-initiatives
The AMS encourages customers to reuse and reduce before recycling. Customers who bring their own mug for hot drinks or containers for meals receive a 25 cent discount. All AMS employees are strongly encouraged to lead by example and use reusable containers and service ware from the office kitchen to reduce the use of disposable containers. http://www.ams.ubc.ca/campus-life/ams-sustainability/what-we-are-doing/food-and-beverage/waste/
