A brief description of the institution’s program(s) to encourage faculty research in sustainability:
The Sustainability Research Fellowship Program is open to tenured and tenure track UBC faculty members to foster research on sustainability at UBC. The activities of the Research Fellows complements UBC’s Living Lab strategy, the potential for “at scale” application of research results through replication/application on UBC campuses and the ongoing activities of the existing Teaching and Learning Fellows.
The objective of this program is to expand sustainability research activity, at UBC Vancouver, through the facilitation or development of major research initiatives. Applied activities and projects treating the campus infrastructure as a laboratory for innovation are encouraged. Collectively the Fellows have the opportunity to provide input into UBC’s operational plan and sustainability “investments” going forward.
