UALR has a Sustainability Committee composed for 19 members from the University's faculty and Staff. The committee sponsors the Campus Sustainability Day and Earth Day Activities, promotes the development of sustainable related courses, recycling and composting activities and other activities across the entire campus. The Sustainability Committee engages the campus in many ways. The include Farm2Work, Take Back the Tap!, Campus Sustainability Day, and Campus Earth Day. It also holds a number of annual competitions to promote the principles of sustainability and to encourage sustainable behavior on the UALR campus.
