A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:

The UofA's mode share survey was conducted by Gordian, a third party consultant, during the spring of 2019. The survey was promoted with the promise of a gift card raffle and received over 1500 responses, which was a statistically valid sample size.
