Using spreadsheets of all funded research projects from FY2015-2016 at the U of A, projects were sorted by primary and secondary sustainability research. Department and faculty affiliations were included in that documentation.

The inventory of sustainability research ranks projects by primary, secondary, and tertiary proximity to sustainability. Zeros represent no link to sustainability. The three tiers could all be considered sustainability research, but for internal purposes, we prefer to have a tiered system.
The information presented here is self-reported.
