A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:
Office for Sustainability staff work on numerous committees for the City of Fayetteville, such as the Fayetteville Community Garden Coalition (FCGC). Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), now titled Enactus (ENtrepreneurial-ACTion-US), is an entrepreneurial group at the University of Arkansas. Enactus has a "Green Team" that undertakes sustainable entrepreneurial endeavors, such as replacing custodial spray bottles with old coca cola or pepsi bottles to reduce the purchase and use of new plastic bottles. The school's Applied Sustainability Center, Walton College of Business and the University of Arkansas at large all help to host an annual Sustainable Communities Leadership Summit.
