A brief description of the institution’s formal participatory or shared governance bodies:

The University of Arizona practices shared governance with its faculty, appointed personnel, staff, students, and our ultimate governing body, the Arizona Board of Regents, which is committed to ensuring access for qualified residents of Arizona to undergraduate and graduate institutions; promoting the discovery, application, and dissemination of new knowledge; extending the benefits of university activities to Arizona’s citizens outside the university; and maximizing the benefits derived from the state’s investment in education (https://www.azregents.edu/).

The Faculty Senate, composed of faculty members elected as faculty representatives, shares responsibility for academic and educational activities and matters related to faculty personnel. Additionally, they participate in the governance and the development of the University policy." (https://facultygovernance.arizona.edu/participate/faculty-senate).

The Staff Council represents University and Classified Staff employees of the University of Arizona and advises the University Administration Governance and other UArizona organizations on matters of concern to the University staff community.UArizona Staff Council promotes professional enrichment and works to favorably influence senior leadership by being useful members of a collaborative team in carrying out the goals of the University (https://www.staffcouncil.arizona.edu/).

The Associated Students of the University of Arizona (ASUA) is the student government on the University of Arizona campus that is composed of students who are willing to go above and beyond and serve their school and peers. Through programs, policies, events and making sure the student voice is heard, ASUA is here to make sure that students are able to engage themselves in the University of Arizona and make their college years the most memorable yet. They aim to make sure that every single one of our peers is able to engage with the university through a wide spectrum of involvement opportunities which include everything from politics to event planning to changing campus for the better (https://asuatoday.arizona.edu/).

The Campus Community Relations Committee (CCRC) is established for the purpose of bringing together The University of Arizona (UA), the City of Tucson, Banner University Medical Center, the neighborhood associations, and other partners to create, promote, and sustain livable communities in the university area

The CCRC shall be composed of the duly authorized representatives of the University of Arizona, the City of Tucson (Ward 3 and Ward 6), Banner University Medical Center, and the University-area neighborhood associations. The following neighborhood associations, which are recognized by the City of Tucson Department of Neighborhood Resources, shall be represented on the CCRC:
