The Office of Sustainability maintains tabs on their website for news articles, blog posts, and upcoming events related to sustainability. Additionally, there is an active Instagram account used to highlight programs, events, job opportunities, sustainability tips, fun facts, and more. Additionally, there are links to programs such as Compost Cats and to informative articles about current events related to sustainability. This account is targeted towards students at the university as well as community members. The username for this account is @uarizonasustainability. Aside from the primary Instagram, there are several other accounts related to environmental consciousness, waste reduction, activism, and so on. Some examples are Students for Sustainability, Arizona Environment, and UArizona Campus Pantry. https://sustainability.arizona.edu/news


Signage

Yes

A brief description of the signage that highlights sustainability features on campus:

There are a few examples of sustainable signage on campus. The first is plaques signifying Leed certified buildings on campus. This includes two dorms and the ENR2 building, all of which have a plaque demonstrating their environmentally conscious design. Secondly, the campus is home to a sustainability mural featuring images of the sun and solar panels. Students for Sustainability is in the process of putting up a second mural with similar themes. Lastly, there are posters around campus promoting sustainable living. For example, the dorms will often have tips for how to save water or electricity and the student union has signage promoting Raddichio, the university's plant forward dining option. Additionally, the university student unions maintain signage about how to properly dispose of waste, including recycling, composting, and trash.

Yes

A brief description of the sustainability walking map or tour:

The sustainability map highlights places on campus that are sustainable in terms of water, food, the built environment, transportation, waste reduction, and more. Utilizing ArcGIS Online, this site allows users to walk through campus and visit the various features. https://sustainabilitymap.arizona.edu/.

 

 


Green living guide 

Does the institution produce a guide for green living and/or incorporating sustainability into the residential experience?:
Yes

A brief description of the guide for green living and/or incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:

Housing and Residential Life maintains a Green Shopping List for students to refer to. This guide includes must-haves and other suggestions for making sustainable choices when purchasing dorm supplies. Suggestions like bringing a reusable water bottle and bag, as well as tips for light bulbs, sustainable textiles, and other dorm supplies are provided. It also includes information for how to get involved with the Eco-Rep dorm advocacy program. In addition to these tips, Residence Life distributes to every resident a recycling guide that covers how the University recycles.
