A brief description of the incentive program(s):

The University of Arizona has different incentives and programs to incentivize the development of courses and programs to increase student learning of sustainability. From integrating new tools to amplify an existing project to redesigning an entire course, our team has developed unique resources and personalized services to support experiential learning and career skill building within college curriculum and co-curriculum. The Experiential Learning Design Accelerator program supports faculty to design undergraduate courses that integrate community engaged experiential learning, as well as nstructional design support to create learning objects and activities that engage students in applying human-centered concepts and other effective creative problem-solving strategies to unscripted problems facing an organization or community. A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:

Design Accelerator Faculty members (up to 7) whose undergraduate courses address issues, topics, and stakeholders in the Borderlands region will be eligible for a $03,500 stipend as part of the Project ADELANTEAdvancing Culturally Responsive Place-Based Educational Opportunities for Latinx Students in the Borderlands Initiative to (1) increase students’ access to place-based culturally responsive educational experiences, (2) increase students’ career readiness and post-graduation success, and (3) strengthen institutional capacity to increase place-based culturally responsive educational experiences for our Hispanic/Latinx and low-income students to support their persistence rates, sense of belonging on campus, and career readiness. is fellowship-based and includes mentorship by faculty currently engaged in experiential learning, $3000 for faculty and $1500 for community partners, participation in a research study, and more.
