Affiliates lists for the Institute of the Environment and Water Resources Research Center were compared and combined in order to develop the list of sustainability researchers and their affiliations. Of this list, only faculty were counted, as there is no ready way to identify a full list of non-faculty research positions at the university.
UA Factbook was used to identify total number of faculty. UA departmental directory was used to identify total number of academic departments with faculty. Research centers were excluded on the basis that all faculty in research centers also have an academic department affiliation.
