A brief description of the institution’s certified green cleaning program, including the year adopted and/or certified:
CIMS certification is provided by the International Sanitary Supply Association and the honours designation is awarded to companies that have demonstrated outstanding capability to thoroughly manage processes, implement procedures, capture opportunities for improvement and measure results.
UAlberta's contractor, Bee-Clean has undergone the independent assessments required to become Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) certified with honours. Bee-Clean has also been certified CIMS Green Building, an endorsement of their green commitment in action.

2010 – Re-certified CIMS-GB with honours
2013 – Recertified CIMS-GB with honours
2016 – Recertified CIMS-GB with honours
