LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT http://www.hrs.ualberta.ca/Learning/Programs.aspx http://www.hrs.ualberta.ca/HealthandWellness.aspx The university's Organizational Health and Effectiveness (OHE) team, within Human Resource Services, offers professional development workshops to all levels of staff in the institution. Organizational Health and Effectiveness offers leadership development programs for senior administrative academics (deans, chairs, directors, administrative professional officers, and supervisors). Topics related to human rights, employment equity, and healthy workplaces are significant components of the programs, with the provision of at least a half-day of theory and opportunities for discussion. In addition to the leadership programs, OHE offers a number of employment equity, human rights, and diversity-related information sessions and workshops. A sample of the many sessions includes: duty to accommodate, employment equity and human rights in recruitment, working within diverse work teams, welcoming newcomers, and communication during conflict.

A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution(e.g. through payment, reimbursement, or subsidy):
LEADING SUSTAINABILITY AT WORK http://sustainability.ualberta.ca/en/GetInvolved/Leadership%20Programs.aspx This program assists participants to become sustainability champions in their workplace by providing them opportunity to develop skills, increase knowledge and understanding of sustainability, and cultivate sustainability leadership qualities. Reimbursement of the tuition fee after completion of the course is available. FACULTY AND STAFF FUNDING http://www.hrs.ualberta.ca/en/Learning/Funding.aspx The university provides opportunities for staff to receive funding via the Human Resource Development Fund for support staff, the Central Professional Development Fund for administrative professional officers, and the Professional Expense Reimbursement Program for academic staff, and tuition remission for all staff.
