Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

Calculations for this credit were made based on estimates from the 2013/14 academic year with data collected from group representatives. These groups were identified as responsible parties as both on- and off-campus community service is a significant component of their work:

Community Service Learning – Calculations are based on all student participants in a CSL course component and the non-profit board internship student participants.

Golden Bears & Pandas Athletics - Calculations are based on those student volunteers involved in the organizing and delivery of UAlberta's Golden Bears & Panda’s sports programming.

Residence Services – Calculations are based on students involvement in BaseCamp Day of Service, Residence Orientation, Resident Assistant training, Global Service Learning, Peer Engagement Assistants and RA Training Community Service Day.

Students’ Union - Calculations are made based on student staff and student volunteer participation in the Students’ Union and includes: Sustain SU, Safewalk, Centre for Student Development, Peer Support Centre, Campus Food Bank, Emerging Leaders Program, Faculty Association Representatives, General Faculties Councillors, Students’ Union Councillors, and all 372 registered student groups (provided by Student Group Services).

UAlberta Ambassadors – Calculations are based on student ambassadors who deliver campus tours and on-campus experiences, welcoming guests to Student Connect. They also represent the UAberta at various events.

University Student Services – Calculations are based on student participation in the following services: Aboriginal Student Services Centre, Community Social Work Team, Sexual Assault Centre, Specialized Support and Disability Services, CAPS: Your U of A Career Centre and University Health Centre.

Please note: The programs listed above include a mixture of paid and un-paid student positions and the volunteer work occurred both on- and off- campus. For the most part, we were not able to remove duplicate students due to the nature and complexity of the data. All numbers are estimates and it should be specifically noted that the Student Groups Services numbers are based on their staff’s experience with representative groups at various levels of involvement, combined data submitted from the groups about their membership.
