A brief description of how the employee educators are selected (1st program):
Staff, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty are invited to express interest in this program and a cohort is made with a maximum of 25 people. We offer multiple cohorts to fill demand. ecoREPs require permission from their supervisors to participate.

A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive (1st program):
The ecoREPs program helps build sustainability leadership skills so participants can champion sustainability practices in their work and personal life. Participants in this program have an increased awareness, knowledge, and skill set which leads to more sustainability‐related behaviours in the workplace.
Program participants access information about sustainability, participate in hands-on activities, and gain useful resources. The program is also an opportunity to connect with a network of individuals who are in interested in designing and achieving sustainable solutions. If an ecoREP chooses to, they can complete a sustainability project in their workplace.

The ecoREPs program has been designed, promoted and delivered for three consecutive years by the Office of Sustainability. Also, participants of ecoREPs have preferred access to the Green Grants which provide funding for projects that advance campus sustainability.
