A brief description of the metering system:

North Campus buildings are metered for electricity, steam, chilled water and natural gas. Data from our major power meters (campus feeders, on-site generation, and utility plants) are available in real time to administrative staff; all other power meters are read manually via meter cards.

Following is more information on the types of meters used at the university:
Electricity: GE energy and demand meters.
Steam: Orifice plate with dual DP cells for extended turndown ratio.
Chilled Water: Rosemount Magflow meters.
Natural Gas: Diaphragm or rotary meters.
