Does the institution meter all energy consumption (electricity, natural gas, purchased steam, etc.) for at least one building?:
A brief description of the metering system:
North Campus buildings are metered for electricity, steam, chilled water and natural gas. Data from our major power meters (campus feeders, on-site generation, and utility plants) are available in real time to administrative staff; all other power meters are read manually via meter cards.
Following is more information on the types of meters used at the university:
Electricity: GE energy and demand meters.
Steam: Orifice plate with dual DP cells for extended turndown ratio.
Chilled Water: Rosemount Magflow meters.
Natural Gas: Diaphragm or rotary meters.
The percentage of building space with energy metering:

The percentage given is 90% because, while on North Campus each building is metered at the building level, on other campuses there are some bulk meters. North Campus is approx. 90% of the building space at UAlberta.
