Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Method: The STARS technical manual indicates that incentives should encourage students to conduct sustainability research. We had two approaches to collecting information for this credit.
1) We used the list of incentives from our STARS 2011 submission and did a review of the websites to update the information and verify that the listed initiatives were indeed incentives as defined by the STARS technical manual.
2) The Office of Sustainability maintains an online list of sustainability related incentives and resources at the University of Alberta. We examined this online list for any incentives that were not included in the list of incentives listed in step 1) above.
The information presented here is self-reported. While AASHE staff review portions of all STARS reports and institutions are welcome to seek additional forms of review, the data in STARS reports are not verified by AASHE. If you believe any of this information is erroneous or inconsistent with credit criteria, please review the process for inquiring about the information reported by an institution or simply email your inquiry to stars@aashe.org.
