Yes

A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:

Sustainability is currently embedded formally in the university's Welcome Orientation, which occurs three times per year; the average attendance is approximately 120 new employees. A speaker from the area is often included in the agenda. In addition, the Orientation Marketplace features a booth from the Office of Sustainability, where brochures and content are distributed and appropriate representatives are available to answer questions and share more information regarding services and responsibilities.

More recently, information on sustainability requirements, challenges and initiatives has been conveyed in the Academic Leadership Development Program and the Academic Professional Officers’ school.

A new initiative aimed at implementation of a new comprehensive orientation program is also underway. Currently in design, sustainability has been identified as a necessary element of the orientation process. This will be implemented within the next 12 months.
