A brief description of how the institution ensures that its lowest-paid workers (including contractors, if applicable) receive sustainable compensation:

Through both formal salary surveys and spot checks on individual job types, we ensure that the salaries that we pay to the lowest paid workers are competitive within the marketplace. These consistently show that the institutional compensation practices are approximately 13.4 per cent ahead of the Alberta market.

Contractors that do not work directly for the university, would be paid in accordance with Alberta's regulations for minimum wage. For details visit: http://employment.alberta.ca/SFW/998.html
