Through both formal salary surveys and spot checks on individual job types, we ensure that the salaries that we pay to the lowest paid workers are competitive within the marketplace. These consistently show that the institutional compensation practices are approximately 13.4 per cent ahead of the Alberta market.
Contractors that do not work directly for the university, would be paid in accordance with Alberta's regulations for minimum wage. For details visit: http://employment.alberta.ca/SFW/998.html

UAlberta conducts an external market survey approximately every three years to ensure salaries are competitive with the market. The most recent survey conducted was in 2009 and results indicated that UAlberta support staff salaries are approximately 13.4 per cent ahead of the Alberta market.
