A brief description of the purchasing behavior:
NORTH CAMPUS
All napkins used by University Dining Services in retail and residential dining services areas are made from 100 per cent recycled paper. The napkins are purchased on an as needed basis from our approved supplier, and Expressnap dispensers are used, which only allow one napkin to be dispensed at a time, further reducing waste.
AUGUSTANA CAMPUS
Augustana Campus orders only recycled paper napkins, which are placed in a dispenser on the dining room wall. Augustana used to supply non-recycled napkins in a basket and students would take three or four at a time; this would result in placing an order for napkins approximately eight times a year. When Augustana began purchasing recycled napkins and using the wall-mounted dispensers, their ordering was cut nearly in half.
