A brief description of the student-managed SRI fund:
Project Ummid has been actively managing raised funds through the loan of cows to woman in the village of Jamsuth India. Student handled the investment themselves even going so far as to visit the village and speak to the individuals who received loans. Once a loan is repaid the money gets passed on in microfinance fashion to a new woman in the village who would most benefit from an additional cow. Money is raised via donation and activities and the fund has been institutionalized.
