All appliances/equipment purchased by the UAF are strongly encouraged to be and EPEAT and ENERGY STAR* rated, if such approval exists for the type of appliance/equipment being purchased. Many of the computers purchased through the GSA Dell Premier website and the Apple Store for Higher Education already meet this standard. As UAF submits RFPs for new equipment and update configurations for standard computer equipment, purchasing is encouraged to incorporate energy efficiency criteria into the selection process.
