Sustainability Art Show
UAF believes that waste can be a creative source for art and manufacturing. The goal of the sustainability art show is to promote local artist and industries that use recycled and repurposed materials in creative ways. This type of event will help reshape these “waste” materials into viable products, job creation and finally a responsible solution for much of our waste stream.
The Sustainability Art Show was started by Office of Sustainability student employee Sam Misra, working in partnership with Wendy Croskrey, Art Department faculty. The show was exhibited in the UAF Wood Center. The art show was integrated into the curriculum of the sculpture class which was taught by Dr. Croskey. Pieces from the fall and spring semester 2010-11 are posted on the website listed below.
