A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the inventory:
In partial completion of her capstone project, a Public Administration Masters student inventoried classes listed by UAA in its 2008/2009 academic year catalog utilizing the above definition. She also researched the AASHE website and course offerings listed by peer institutions to assess which courses were considered to be sustainability related or focused. The identified courses were compiled into an Excel spreadsheet and distributed to faculty members who had volunteered to comprise our sustainability curriculum group. These faculty members vetted the list of courses, culling courses that they felt did not meet the definition and adding courses that had been missed.
