A brief description of how the institution safely disposes of hazardous, universal, and non-regulated chemical waste:
OEHS collects and stores waste in a 180 day accumulation area and a Universal Waste Storage Shed. A licensed Waste Disposal company selected by competitive bid picks up the waste at least every 180 days. Office of Environmental Health and Safety maintains disposal records.

No reportable quantities have been released. There have been a few small chemical releases below threshhold quantities that were cleaned up by UAH personnel.
A brief description of any inventory system employed by the institution to facilitate the reuse or redistribution of laboratory chemicals:
Chematix is utilized to request chemical waste pickups. When chemicals are unexpired and in good condition, OEHS offers these for redistribution to other researchers on the UAH campus.

All of UAH e-waste is collected by the central receiving department on campus. All electronic waste that is still usable is wiped and resold on govdeals.com.
For unusable e-waste, UAH has a contract with Georgia Computer Incorporated (GCI) that recycles the remaining waste.
