Girls Science and Engineering Day has been held at UAH for 10 years.The event offers 24, 40-minute long workshops presented by volunteers. Each girl attends four workshops during the day, one from each of the STEM disciplines. About 540 third - fifth grade girls registered and 310 volunteers.

Also, the event strives to keep waste to a minimum by doing things like putting lunches in brown paper bags instead of plastic packaging.

This international Festival ifest has been held at UAH since 2009. The one-day family friendly event features cultural performances, the parade of over 45 nations and an international open air market, showcasing international food vendors, crafts and arts, and food trucks.

The program is operated by over 400 volunteers made up of both students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community. Approx. 5000 people participated in the event and that number is expected to grow.
