In support of UAB Sustainability’s commitment to increasing knowledge and providing professional development opportunities for the campus community, all UAB students, faculty, and staff now have access to the U.S. Green Building Council’s unlimited education platform. All UAB faculty, staff, and students have free subscription access to Education @USGBC, which features more than 600 hours of green building and sustainability education. This library highlights courses and resources to establish a foundational knowledge of green building and sustainability concepts, as well as numerous resources to support those looking to attain and maintain LEED professional credentials.All faculty and staff are encouraged to become LEED certified in order to establish a foundational knowledge of green building and sustainability concepts in operations and coursework at UAB. The staff of UAB Planning, Design, and Construction (PD&C: architects, engineers, project managers, and field managers) are especially encouraged to take use the resources to maintain existing LEED certifications and get newly certified. Our PD&C staff also have monthly Lunch and Learns to achieve their LEED CEUs.
