UAB Sustainability's water bottle filling station program includes prominent, attractive signage with varying statements regarding the environmental, social, and economic reasons for choosing tap water with reusable bottle over disposable bottled water. UAB also has signage for other green building features such as rooftop solar displays.

The dining hall "The Commons" presents signage along the walls next to the food being presented that day. These signs present facts about the locally sourced food, how to reduce food waste, and the vegan options that are offered.

UAB recently planted a pollinator garden in the UAB Mini Park, across University Boulevard from Campbell Hall. The idea was proposed by a student and funded by the Sustainability Investment Fund. The signage is several feet away from the garden and displays information about the importance of native pollinators and plants. The garden is used to create a more welcoming environment for pollinators, such as honey bees, beetles, moths, and butterflies.

Our Parking and Transportation site prominently includes information about the CommuteSmart programs, include ways to commute, incentive programs, etc. They also produce a paper version of this guide. Condensed information about multi-modal transportation is also offered in the new student and new employee orientation.
