A brief description of the methodology used to determine the total number of courses offered and to identify sustainability course offerings, including the definitions used and the process for reviewing and/or validating the course inventory :

Total number of courses were identified using the course catalog and our Red Mountain Project courses. Sustainability courses or courses that include sustainability were identified through review of the course catalog's course descriptions and direct communication with the designated instructors for the courses. Also, the course products of our annual Red Mountain Project were included in this inventory. Courses were selected based on inclusion of social, environmental, and/or economic concepts within sustainability and from direct communications with the instructors. Inclusion of the topics could be in one of many forms: hidden curriculum, paradigm shift, new readings or content, new assignment/project, new unit, guest speakers, and/or service learning.

How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each course was counted as a single course regardless of the number of offerings or sections
