UCC's Student Council is the primary decision making body of the Student Union. At least 6 times a year, reps from each class come together to discuss issues and to mandate officers to pursue a particular course of action.
The president and deputy president of the Student's Union sit on Governing Body https://www.ucc.ie/en/ocla/govbod/member/ . This is the highest body within UCC - https://www.ucc.ie/en/ocla/univgov/orgstruct/ . The SU positions are elected by the main student body as representative of them, for a term of one year.
