Factors taken in to account include: UB has approximately 7,900 campus residents; its transit system transports 16,000 passengers daily; and 1,200 students at the School of Medicine have free access to NFTA Metro Bus and Rail; Annual surveys conducted by Parking & Transportation Services to help gauge these percentages.

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:

Data from our parking system, along with a survey conducted by the University Parking and Transportation Office in order to study employee commuting habits. Also used was information gathered regarding the move of the Medical School to the downtown campus.
