A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
Students of University at Albany are able to take advantage of mental health and wellness services including training on health and wellness topics and counseling services through UAlbany Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).

University faculty and staff (as well as family members and retirees) can take advantage of health and wellness services and resources through UAlbany’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This program is committed to providing various opportunities to enhance health and well-being. EAP offers an assessment and referral service to aid employees in finding services to meet their personal needs. In addition to these EAP assessment and referral services, EAP sponsors an array of wellness programs designed to meet the needs and interests of the University Community. Most of these programs are free of charge (unless otherwise specified). Free health and wellness sessions take place on the uptown, downtown and health science campuses, as well as many being offered virtually. These events and programming provide valuable information and resources that will enhance participants’ well-being, as well as providing opportunities to enhance one’s physical and mental health.

Tobacco Use Prohibitions (effective January 22, 2020)
The University at Albany prohibits Smoking and the use of all Tobacco Products on all University Property, regardless of location.
Smoking and the use of Tobacco Products shall not be permitted on or in any University Property including, but not limited to any enclosed place, office, classroom, hallway, waiting room, restroom, meeting room, community area, performance venue and private residential space within University at Albany owned or operated housing.
Smoking and the use of Tobacco Products shall also be prohibited outdoors on all University Property, including, but not limited to, the academic podium, walkways, roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, paths, fields, sports/recreational areas, and stadiums, as well as in all personal vehicles while on University Property.
