A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:
The Purple Pantry is stocked with a variety of non-perishable foods, fresh produce and toiletries. It is open to all current UAlbany students, faculty and staff. UAlbany community members can come to the pantry once per month, or as needed. They will be provided up to four days’ worth of food.
In addition to providing immediate food necessities, the Purple Pantry hosts programs designed to assist students with meeting their basic needs. These programs include screenings for WIC/SNAP benefits, nutritionist consultations, financial management and other initiatives.
