Biodiversity, Conservation and Policy
A brief description of the graduate-level degree program:
Students learn the basic concepts in conservation biology, politics, policy and planning and how these fields interact in the real world. Biologists with a basic understanding of how policy relates to the goals of preservation and conservation are essential to conservation efforts. The program, with its multidisciplinary approach, allows students to examine decision-making processes as both scientists and policy analysts.

A brief description of the graduate degree program (2nd program):
The Master of Science in Environmental Health Sciences program studies the impact of animal, botanical, geological, and atmospheric poisons on human health. THe program gives students the opportunity to work closely with faculty actively working on major environmental public health research projects. Students learn how to collect and analyze environmental public health data and gain advanced skills through hands-on research on the Health Sciences Campus and in the Wadsworth Center labs of the New York State Department of Health.

Students secure the advanced skills and technical depth to protect human health and the environment through the Master of Science in Environmental and Sustainable Engineering (ESE) program at UAlbany in one of four concentration areas: water and wastewater, air quality, human health and the environment, and sustainable engineering. Through coursework and research, students will be equipped with the expertise and experience to make an immediate impact in the workforce.

Health Disparities
A brief description of the graduate minor, concentration or certificate:
The health disparities certificate program is jointly offered by the School of Education, School of Social Welfare, and the School of Public Health at UAlbany. The program covers why and how health care access and the incidence of disease and disability differs between groups. Students help fight racial, age, economic, sexuality, disability, geographic, and gender-based inequities by learning how to advocate for underserved populations and change the way health organizations serve these communities.
