Public Engagement has been identified as a university priority, which has created a culture of encouraging research and participation in activities that collaborate with the community.

The University was named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. In addition to the students engaged in community service listed above, 23 service learning courses had 6,701 student registrations.
