Yes

A brief description of the snow and ice removal program, policy, or practice:

The University employs several strategies to reduce the environmental impact of snow and ice removal. First, the University has a policy to remove the snow and ice on affected walkways and parking lots, rather than use salt to eliminate the ice. While salt alternatives have not been effective, the amount of salt used in ice removal has been greatly reduced. The salt is also mixed with sand to decrease the amount needed. The grounds department also takes great care in creating a minimum level of salt in the concentrate needed to provide the desired results. In addition, the use of calcium chloride has been eliminated in favor of the more environmentally friendly magnesium chloride.
