The name of the campaign(s):
Fall Energy Campaign, RecycleMania

A brief description of the campaign(s):

These are our three major outreach campaigns. The Fall Energy Campaign is a competition between the dormitories on campus, to see who can reduce the most amount of electricity compared to a historical baseline. As part of this campaign, students are provided with CFL light bulbs to replace existing incandescent bulbs and a portion of the monetary savings from energy conservation is returns to the dorms. In the spring semester each year, we participate in the nationwide RecycleMania competition. Not only do we highlight recycling on campus during this time, but we also hold competitions between the dormitories to see which can recycle the most. We also hold individual student recycling competitions and other recycling themed events.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign(s):

In the Fall 2010 semester, as a result of the Fall Energy Campaign we saw a 14% decrease in electricity usage in the dormitories across campus.

In 2010 we averaged 14,340 lbs. of recycled material per week and during the Spring 2011 RecycleMania competition, the campus averaged 18,566 lbs. per week of recycled material.
