The Institution regularly offers group training sessions that are open to all employees and cover different themes: Workplace health and wellness, ergonomics, telecommuting, effective communications, strategic email writing, equity, diversity, inclusion, mental health, etc. The Institution also offers training to management personnel: Positive leadership, how to influence staff, managing employees in the context of telework, etc. This training is delivered through webinars, conferences, and workshops.
A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution :
For each union or association, there is a joint development committee. This committee processes all requests for employee development according to an established budget. The budget is 1.5% of the payroll for each union and association and the employer encourages employees to make requests to the various professional development committees. Here are the types of development that are requested by employees and eligible to development committees: Job-related development, academic development to acquire new skills or to obtain another job within the organization, group development and language courses. This training is offered externally through recognized firms, educational institutions or professional associations. It can also be delivered to employees internally or remotely, but the trainers come from external firms.
