A brief description of the gardens, farms, community supported agriculture (CSA) or fishery programs, and/or urban agriculture projects:
On July 12, 2017, Université TÉLUQ inaugurated an urban vegetable garden in the Jardin du Savoir, located at its headquarters on Rue du Parvis in the St-Roch district. This project, which was carried out in association with the SQUAT Basse-Ville organization, aims to make a difference in its environment by helping young people aged 12 to 25, namely by sharing good global health practices and nutritional support. Through its mission, the University disseminates the knowledge that students need to surpass themselves, thus promoting our society’s development. This involves training enlightened citizens who are committed to their community. Through this project, we wish to set an example by supporting SQUAT Basse-Ville, a highly regarded and very active organization in the St-Roch district, and by reaching out to young Quebecers in precarious circumstances.
