A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
Each year, the Student Services Office organizes one or two "ULaval Back to School" days. During this event, several sectors are invited to set up kiosks or activities to inform and raise awareness among the university community on various topics and issues. Several kiosks address elements of sustainable development, including the SD team, the Sustainable Health team, the Responsible Entrepreneurship team and the Social Engagement team kiosks.
The university community (students and staff) is educated and informed during these days on the following topics
- Sustainable development education: courses, programs, profile, etc.
- Research and creation related to sustainability
- Governance - sustainable development approach at Université Laval
- Fighting climate change
- Sustainable transportation
- Responsible purchasing and consumption
- Sustainable food choices
- Sustainable infrastructure
- Waste management
- Water and energy management
- Healthy lifestyle habits
- Social involvement
- Culture, living environment and global awareness
- Opportunity for social involvement in the community
