To achieve its Policy objectives, the university :

- Asks members of the university community to submit the results of scientific research carried out at the university to the institutional repository
- Encourages all members of the university to embrace the principle of open access through information, communication, and dialogue
- Encourages members of the university community to retain copyright over their work so research results can be disseminated under open access
- A section of the library's website is intended to introduce and promote open access: https://corpus.ulaval.ca/jspui/.
Another section encourages the use of the deposit: https://www.bibl.ulaval.ca/services/depot-institutionnel#content
- Corpus training courses are available: https://www.bibl.ulaval.ca/services/depot-institutionnel/formations#content

The open access publishing is available on Corpus. The university covers the cost of the institutional platform for the online repository.

Created on June 1, 2014, the Copyright Office is responsible for overseeing the management and dissemination of educational material and provides free advisory service on questions about copyright management. More specifically, the Copyright Office provides advice on all aspects of the use of open-access material for teaching and learning. It also helps raise awareness about the dissemination of open-access scientific publications to preserve and share Université Laval’s scientific heritage. https://www.bda.ulaval.ca/
