Does the institution have a local offsets program through which the institution seeks to offset its greenhouse gas emissions by implementing projects that reduce GHG emissions in the local community?:
Yes

A brief description of the program:

In 2013 Université Laval launched a voluntary greenhouse gas emissions offset program. It focuses on staff and students’ daily commutes, study abroad and business travel, and travel by speakers and attendees of environmentally responsible events. Study abroad students who fly to their destinations and those who drive to conferences and meetings can now reduce their climate footprint.
The money raised will go toward planting additional trees in Montmorency Forest, the university’s teaching and research forest.
The university will make a matching investment in the program through its sustainable development fund. The money invested by the university will be used to fund greenhouse gas reduction initiatives on campus and elsewhere.
